Baby boomers are those people born during the demographic post-World War II baby boom between the years 1946 and 1964. However, the term “baby boomers” is sometimes used in a cultural context and different groups, organisations, individuals and scholars may have widely varying opinions on what constitutes baby boomers. For our purposes baby boomers are the 50+ generation. The Infographic below looks into the online habits of the UK’s older generation known as Baby Boomers or Silver Surfers.
Baby Boomers are Influenced by Digital Marketing
The online video search engine, Blinkx, has surveyed over 740 UK adults aged 50 and over (baby boomers) to find out about their online habits and what type of marketing campaigns they are receptive to. This research has shown that for baby boomers employment is low on the agenda and finances are a prioritiy. Meanwhile over 80% of respondents said they use the web for online research, while 21% said they are positively influenced by digital marketing.
